Robert Steininger ushers in a new generation

Neckarsulm/Vienna, 5th October 2009 – Robert Steininger's admission into the Bechtle GmbH IT System House Vienna management on 1st October 2009 (previously supportEDV) represents the changing of the guard, which has been planned for quite some time.

Dr. Gerhard Dörfler, who is responsible for having built up the business over its 22-year existence, will remain at the helm of Bechtle Vienna until 31st December 2009 and will be offering his counsel and guidance until September 2010, in order to ensure a smooth transition.

Robert Steininger brings with him 17 years of experience in the IT industry. Five of those years were with ACP, where, as the managing director, he firmly established the business in the enterprise computing market and later took charge of the sales management of the business group. Most recently, the native of Vienna, Austria was employed by Hewlett Packard in their Enterprise Storage and Servers department.

"For me, the position of managing director of Bechtle Vienna is an exciting challenge. I consider my top priority, along with the entire team, to be the further development of the business as an established IT partner," said Robert Steininger.

The business, formerly supportEDV, has belonged to the Bechtle group since September 2008 and is registered under the company name Bechtle GmbH since May 2009. Founded in 1987, it is a recognised specialist in the field of IT infrastructures and currently employs 25 workers. The system house offers its services to a variety of customers from different industries and service sectors, as well as from the public sector. Its core business is services for computer centres.
