Field Notice from Cisco – SSD failure after 40,000 hours operating time.

Cisco has published an important field notice related to an issue with certain SSDs built into UCS servers. This includes appliances built on UCS servers (such as DNA Center and ISE).

After 40,000 power-on hours (4.5 years), the SSD will become unusable which inevitably leads to loss of your data.

As a solution, Cisco has published firmware updates on its website.

Recommended action.

  • Follow this link to check if your product ID is affected: FN-70545.
  • Download and install the software release for your system.
