Bechtle wins tender with Baden-Württemberg.

Bechtle has contracted with Baden-Württemberg's administration to supply new IT hardware, valued at approximately ten million euros, over a duration of 12 to 18 months. Bechtle offers on-site services until February 2018.

Neckarsulm/Ditzingen, 15 October 2012 – The logistics centre of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg has awarded Bechtle, an IT service provider located in Neckarsulm, the framework agreements for the provision of IT hardware. The agreements, signed on 1 September 2012, are valued at around ten million euros and will last from 12 to 18 months. During this time, 12,000 PCs, 15,000 monitors, 4,200 laptops, and 4,400 printers will be made available. An additional 500 workstations for tax investigation and IT evidence preservation, as well as 500 multi-purpose devices are also included. Bechtle will also take over on-site services for certain local authorities until the end of February 2018.

“We will be equipping all of Baden-Württemberg's employee workstations,” says Bernd Ihle, the Sales Director for the public sector at the Bechtle IT System House Neckarsulm. This is the fourth time in a row that Bechtle's tender to supply the federal state's IT infrastructure has been accepted. This is also the first time that they have been accepted as partners in all lots - four as direct partners, and two as fulfilment partners. “The Ministry of Finance and Economy greatly supports this historic opportunity to receive all supplies from a single supplier,” states a Ministry spokesperson. Bernd Ihle seconds the advantages of the recently signed framework agreements, emphasizing that “The customer now has a stable go-to source.”

Bechtle will provide comprehensive warranty and on-site services to accompany the hardware, ensuring that any issues arising will be resolved by Bechtle technicians within the agreed upon response and recovery time. If necessary, defective equipment will be replaced fom Bechtle's own replacement stock. A help desk will be available for any customer questions, and Bechtle will manage the entire service process.

Throughout the entire duration of the contracts, Baden-Württemberg will be able to send individual orders to the Bechtle IT System House in Neckarsulm. To ease the order process, the LZBW has put an e-shop at the disposal of the federal state's different administrative sites. Bechtle will also be overseeing new hardware rollouts for entire departments and ministries. For instance, several police departments will be receiving new PCs in April 2013. Some 12,000 new computers will be delivered in close collaboration with the Baden-Württemberg administration's IT centre.

One of Bechtle's advantages in the public sector market is its expansive product portfolio, which includes 47,000 different products from a wide spectrum of manufacturers. “We are in the position to select the perfect products for our customers' individual needs.”
