Husqvarna Group receives training in Microsoft Office 365.

Initial situation.

The Husqvarna Group employs over 13,000 globally. The company is headquartered in Stockholm and operates in Europe, the USA and Asia, with offices in Huskvarna (Sweden), Charlotte (USA), Shanghai and Ulm in Germany. The administrative, development, assembly and logistics departments are located in Ulm. Many components for GARDENA products are produced in Heuchlingen (near Ulm) while the metalwork competence centre, commercial training centre and construction division are located in Niederstotzingen. The logistics hub for bulky goods and training centre for specialist retailers and professional users are located in Laichingen. There are over 1,600 employees in the Ulm region who share the company's passion for innovation, development and precision and who are constantly looking to improve and develop themselves. For this reason, in addition to numerous other services, the HR department offers the employees a wide-range of training courses.

 

Project objectives.

When it came to the introduction of Microsoft Office 365, everyone needed some initial guidance and support in the use of Office, Excel, Outlook and Mobile Working. The Husqvarna Group didn't just want a simple training, but courses that were specially tailored to the needs of the employees and

the various application areas and that went deeper into the functionality of Microsoft Office 365. The goal was to use this IT innovation to improve employee efficiency and to help end-users feel more secure when using

such an essential tool.

Our employees should be able to make full use of the applications. Bechtle's experienced instructors did an excellent job, opening their eyes to the secrets of Word, Excel and Outlook, meaning that the users need less IT support and can work even more efficiently.

Solution.

Bechtle created a comprehensive programme of workshops that included such topics as "OneNote - the digital notebook" and "PowerPivot for Excel". Another topic covered how to work efficiently with Office 365. Instructors from Bechtle also presented the additional functions of Outlook 2103, demonstrating that it's more than just a mail programme. The knowledgeable, Bechtle-trained instructors always catered for the specific requests of the customer and participants and were flexible in terms of where the courses took place. As a result, around 400 employees were able to deepen their knowledge of Office 365 during the course of the project.

 

Business benefits.

The Husqvarna Group's offer of training in Microsoft Office 365 provided its employees with a broader range of user knowledge. They can now access previously unknown functions, use them correctly and save a lot of time in everyday office use—all thanks to Bechtle's experienced instructors. The end users have a better understanding of the applications they use and therefore require less support from the in-house IT department. They are also happier and more efficient. Another benefit of the training was the optimisation of many business process.
