Märkische Kliniken GmbH, a federation of municipal hospitals, was founded in 1975. It was among the first of such federations to be formed as a German limited company (GmbH) under private law. Märkische Kliniken GmbH, headquartered in Lüdenscheid, operates the Lüdenscheid clinic, Werdohl municipal clinic and the Marienhospital Letmathe. The Lüdenscheid clinic, whose 28 specialist departments and institutes ensure comprehensive care, is the largest hospital in southern Westphalia.
Märkische Kliniken GmbH wanted to simplify its internal processes by standardising its equipment. Special attention was to be paid to the administration and management of devices. The goal was not only to streamline tasks in the IT and purchasing departments, but also to ensure more efficient device usage. In addition, Märkische Kliniken GmbH wanted to secure maximum availability and optimum prices when purchasing new devices.
As an Apple Authorised Systems Integrator, Bechtle provides all of the services required for such a project, from device procurement and management to needs assessments and app development. Märkische Kliniken GmbH decided to purchase over 50 iPads with cases and accessories designed to withstand the everyday wear and tear of hospital use. iPad adapters and cables were also required for use in the hospital. Bechtle procured and delivered these devices, with experts advising Märkische Kliniken GmbH and configuring devices to suit the organisation’s needs.
Because the new Apple iPads were so easy to integrate with Märkische Kliniken GmbH’s infrastructure, they were highly accepted by both the IT department and management. By implementing sleek, future-ready IT that can be upgraded as needed, Märkische Kliniken GmbH was able to reinforce its image as a modern, innovative organisation with both internal and external stakeholders.
