Features.

Storage migration and replication.

Storage Migration Service is an wizard-based technology that simplifies migration from a server to a new Windows server version or Microsoft Azure. Reconfigurations of applications or users are no longer required with this technology. The storage replication feature is now in Windows Server 2019 Standard with certain limitations, in comparison to the full capacity of Windows Server 2019 Datacenter. Testfailover is a unique feature that enables deployment of target storage in order to validate replication or backup data without a failover.

Hybrid cloud and security.

Windows Server 2019 offers system insights and local analysis features in addition to very precise predictions to transform your on-premise Windows Server management from reactive to proactive. The on-demand app server core considerably enhances app compatibility of the Windows Server core installation option. Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection offers access to deep core and RAM sensors, enhanced by Azure’s comprehensive security resources, and therefore helping to proactively improve security and reduce exposure while simultaneously enabling quick reactions to Windows Server 2019 end points. Reduce the risk of security breaches with support for protected Linux® VMs while also expanding the range of operating systems that Windows Server can protect in a virtualised environment..

Windows Administration Center and Azure integration.

Windows Server 2019 introduces the free, downloadable Windows Administration Center—a modern, browser-based development of inbox management tools such as Server Manager and Microsoft Management Console (MMC). It offers a range of options from integration of initial configuration to management of cloud services. Everything you need to ensure uninterrupted business continuity is included—with the security of Azure cloud services like Azure Backup, Azure File Sync, and Azure Site Recovery. Windows Administration Centre serves as a leader for on-premise computers that use Azure services. It’s independent of the Azure portal used for management, monitoring, and configuration after the initial setup flow. Windows Administration Center can run and restore actions to recovery points. It also serves as a simplified, wizard-supported interface for the Windows Server 2019 Storage Migration Service when migrating from older Windows Server workloads to a modern Windows Server 2019 computers. You can continue to use the Azure Portal to manage servers and perform scaling of the large and growing cloud services sector, as well as view aggregated information for managing tasks and warnings by using deep links.
