With its new data centre in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region, Bechtle is expanding its capacities for private cloud services in collaboration with colocation provider, PFALZKOM, which operates the twin data centres Rhine-Neckar I and II on the Mutterstadt campus.

In the second quarter of 2022, Bechtle AG continued to perform very well. Despite the ongoing supply bottlenecks and the tense macroeconomic situation, the IT company was able to considerably step up its revenue and earnings. From April to June, the revenue underwent a substantial increase of 14.5 per cent to €1,417.6 million.

Bechtle AG today introduced its Climate Protection Strategy 2030, laying out concrete objectives and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and achieve climate neutrality, i.e. net-zero carbon emissions, by 2030.

A Bechtle-led consortium has completed a prototype of the technical infrastructure for a national education platform. The development is part of Germany’s digital education initiative, “Initiative Digitale Bildung”, by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The prototype serves as a proof of concept for a simple and secure consolidation of all offerings across the country’s education landscape.

Bechtle AG is taking the next step in its strategy of international ac-quisitions, ramping up its market presence in the Netherlands with a further IT system house. The latest purchase, Axez ICT Solutions B.V. is specialised in hybrid IT environments and cloud solutions, building up the competences of Dutch IT service provider PQR, which the Bechtle Group acquired in May.

In the second quarter of the year, Bechtle AG’s earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted to €88 million, preliminary numbers suggest, an increase of some 8% over the previous year (€81.2 million). All in all, preliminary earnings are well above the analysts’ consensus estimate of around €78 million derived by Bechtle AG itself.

Bechtle AG is set to scale up its logistics capacity by opening a new warehousing site in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg, where the IT company will settle in on no less than 20,735 m² of the upper floor of Europe’s very first two-storey logistics property, Mach2. Bechtle’s two major logistics hubs in Neckarsulm and Hamburg thus have a combined area of some 46,000 m².

Bechtle AG is creating an additional garden at its headquarters that will give its employees a total of 7,500 square metres of green space for meetings, working and breaks once an asphalt car park has been rewilded.

Bechtle is expanding its established multi-cloud portfolio with unified cloud operation services for hyperscale cloud platforms Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.

Karin Schick today announced the inception of a foundation named after her parents, Gerhard and Ilse Schick. A co-founder of Bechtle, Gerhard Schick has shaped the company for decades working side by side with co-founder Ralf Klenk, paving the way to great success. With a holding of more than 30%, the Schick family is Bechtle AG’s largest shareholder.

In the first quarter of the year, Bechtle AG’s earnings before taxes (EBT) amounted to €73 million, preliminary numbers suggest, an increase of some 19% over the previous year (€61.0 million). This very positive development is in no small part due to special effects on the debit side for the same period last year, which have been largely absent in the current year.

The Global IT Alliance (GITA) has expanded its footprint in the USA with the IT solutions provider, Connection. Headquartered in Merrimack, New Hampshire, Connection supports SMB, large enterprise and public sector customers with a portfolio of products and services spanning business resiliency, cloud, cybersecurity, data centre, network and workplace transformation, as well as digital signage and managed services.

Despite the global supply bottlenecks, 2021 turned out to be another record year for Bechtle AG. The business volume went up by 7.3 per cent to €6,245.8 million, and revenue underwent significant increase of 5.1 per cent to €5,305.5 million.

Bechtle AG has announced the promotion of John Malone to its team of Executive Vice Presidents. The 48-year-old Irishman has been at the helm of Bechtle direct Ireland since 2010, and, effective on 1 March 2022, will take on the newly created role of EVP IT E-commerce, overseeing the direct sales segment’s activities in Ireland and across southern and eastern Europe.

In the fiscal year 2021, Bechtle AG continued on its successful trajectory, despite supply shortages pummelling the IT industry. According to the preliminary figures, the company’s revenue underwent largely organic growth of more than 7 per cent to about €6.25 billion, from €5.82 billion in the prior year.

Bechtle will send off two of its long-standing Executive Vice Presidents to retirement at the turn of the year. Gerhard Marz, Bechtle AG, who as EVP has been overseeing the group’s Public Sector division, is set to pass the baton on to Steven Handgrätinger, head of Public Sector, after 26 years with the company. Elmar König, Bechtle Systemhaus Holding AG, will step down from the helm of the Cluster North/East division after 16 years according to plan. He will be succeeded by Frank Diers, Managing Director, Bechtle IT System House Bielefeld.
