I know, however, that when you have found the perfect training spot, there a lot of questions in your mind and before long, the first day has arrived. That’s why I want to give you a few basic tips for a successful start. Are you ready?
Preparation is everything
You’ll be confronted by many new things right at the beginning. I got to know new people, a company and a working day. This can be quite overwhelming to start with, which is why it is so important to be prepared. Find out a little bit about your new place of work beforehand, maybe even a few facts and figures and a little bit about how the company came into being. It’s these small details that make it immediately clear that you are committed and ready to work, even beyond your normal working hours, which makes a great impression.
The biggest mistake is being afraid to make mistakes Why? It’s simple. You can only really learn by making them and you’ll do better in the future. Nobody assumes that you will be perfect and can do everything. That’s why you are doing the traineeship, right? It’s important to apologise if you do make a mistake and try to remember not to do it again!
It’s important to be open and honest with your colleagues and supervisors. This shows that you have self-confidence and then they will also have confidence in you. It’s important to get to know as many colleagues as possible at the start because every new person you meet is another part of your network and having a network is so important these days. A large network means that you always have someone to talk to when you have questions or issues. And how cool is it to be able to solve issues quickly?
Questions, questions, questions...
You are going to have a lot of questions right at the start. Don’t hold back! It doesn’t matter if they are organisational questions or related to the work you are doing. You really can’t ask too many questions at this point. Always remember, there is no such thing as a stupid question.
And now it’s time say goodbye. I hope you enjoyed my final blog and it was able to help you in some way. Thank you for following and reading. Always remember, you have to believe in yourself before others will believe in you.
If you have any questions, write them in the comments. Bye and maybe our paths will cross again someday.....
