Power to the group through new e-commerce, networking, security and CAD experts.
Four acquisitions in the second half of 2018 have reinforced Bechtle’s position in key fields shaping the future. By purchasing Inmac Wstore, Bechtle is significantly expanding its e-commerce market footprint in France. In addition, Stemmer, Bücker and Coffee—specialising in networking, security and 3D CAD, respectively—collectively brought in some 700 employees whose expertise further empowers the Bechtle Group in key IT areas on the German market.

Savoir vendre: Inmac Wstore.

Bechtle has been active on the French market with the brands Bechtle direct, Bechtle Comsoft and ARP since 2000. The acquisition of Inmac Wstore, the largest in the company’s history to date, lifts Bechtle into the top five French IT companies. Inmac Wstore and Bechtle both take a similar approach to their sales, combining online shops with advising services by qualified sales staff. Inmac Wstore employs over 400 people at three sites.

Jacques Théfo, President of Inmac Wstore SAS: “By joining the Bechtle Group, we see an excellent opportunity for our company to serve our customers in the long term as a strong IT partner with an expanded portfolio. I am particularly pleased that our employees will benefit from the stability and security of a large employer—with a corporate and management culture that suits us very well.”

The company’s headquarters in Roissy-en-France, near Paris, and its offices in Plessis and Angoulême will continue their operations, adding to the Bechtle Group’s current locations in Molsheim, near Strasbourg (Bechtle direct), Paris, Sophia Antipolis, Nantes, Lille and Lyon (Bechtle Comsoft), as well as Antony, near Paris (ARP). France is the third-largest IT market in Europe after the UK and Germany. In addition, it has now become Bechtle’s most important international market.

Stemmer: optimally connected.

The acquisition of Stemmer in December 2018 has bolstered the Bechtle Group’s expertise in network solutions, Unified Communications, IT security and managed services in Germany. The company employs some 160 people in Munich, Duisburg, Karlsruhe, Cologne, Siegen and Stuttgart. Like Bechtle, it holds top partner certifications from Cisco and NetApp and serves medium-sized companies, corporate groups and the public sector. Its managing directors are Henning Heimann and Marcus Reutter.

“Stemmer strengthens us in a critical business area as network competence is becoming increasingly important for hybrid cloud architectures. Stemmer has a lot of experience in this field and is a reliable, well-established IT partner for a multitude of companies and public-sector clients,” says Michael Guschlbauer, member of the Executive Board responsible for IT Systems Integration & Managed Services at Bechtle AG.

“Joining Bechtle means our customers now benefit from an even broader portfolio and greater expertise while still maintaining their well-established ties to Stemmer. This step also gives our employees amazing opportunities to grow. I’m looking forward to starting this exciting new chapter in the history of our company,” says Henning Heimann, Managing Director of Stemmer GmbH.

Bücker: in secure hands.

Bücker has been providing customers with expert IT security advice since 1992. The company, headquartered in the north-western German town of Hille, has established itself as an interregional partner for medium-sized companies and public-sector customers. Its portfolio covers IT security licensing as well as advising and other services.

“With Bücker, we’ve gained a team of excellently trained security specialists with a great customer rapport. This acquisition doesn’t just reinforce our diverse security community across the DACH region, it also bolsters our position in the economically attractive region of East Westphalia,” says Oliver Schmidt, Executive Vice President responsible for Bechtle Managed Services AG.

Co-founders and managing directors Rosemarie and Peter Bücker will continue to exercise their leadership functions, ensuring continuity of management. “The decision to join Bechtle gives us the opportunity to continue to grow at our Hille location. It will ensure long-term stability, reliability and security for our employees and customers which, as a family, have always been priorities for us. We’re excited about the future under the Bechtle umbrella,” says Rosemarie Bücker, Managing Director of Bücker.

Coffee: a 3D Stalwart.

The acquisition of 3D CAD specialist Coffee cements Bechtle’s market position as the largest partner for software publisher Dassault Systèmes SOLIDWORKS in Europe. Coffee is headquartered in Angelburg, in west-central Germany, with seven additional offices throughout the country. Founded in 1997, it currently employs some 70 people.

Coffee’s customers come primarily from the construction-focused sectors of mechanical engineering, plant construction, tool engineering and industrial design. The CAD specialist supports more than 2,800 customers with complete solutions for production and development. It is a certified partner for SOLIDWORKS and SolidCAM, covering these vendors’ entire product ranges. Its portfolio comprises advising services, implementation and support services, including remote maintenance and training.

Coffee founder and outgoing managing partner Daniel Held will act as a consultant for Bechtle, contributing his 20 years of experience in the 3D CAD business. Holger Arenz, who has been a managing partner for eight years, will remain at the helm of the company, where he will be joined by long-time sales manager Torsten Seelig. As a SOLIDWORKS systems integrator, Coffee will continue to operate under its established name.
