Palo Alto Networks: Bechtle scoops double win in Toronto.

Bechtle and Palo Alto Networks have pushed their partnership to the next level. The rapid development of the companies’ collaboration saw Bechtle speed to the status of a Platinum Partner in under two years. The coveted metal came after a brief spell as a Gold Partner of the US company, which had counted Bechtle among its Silver league as recently as 2017. To cap it all off, Bechtle was just named Development Partner of the Year 2018 in the DACH region at a Palo Alto Networks event in Toronto.

Palo Alto Networks is a leading provider of network security solutions. Its next-generation firewalls employ patented App-ID technology to identify and manage applications irrespective of port, protocol, SSL encryption, or other evasive tactics they may use. By scanning content, firewalls by Palo Alto Networks stop threats dead in their tracks and prevent data leakage. “I have no doubt that fast traffic visibility, attack detection and prevention, as well as App-ID dramatically improve corporate IT security. Traffic visualisation makes it impossible for botnet, C&C, or shadow IT activity to bypass or penetrate firewalls,” says Christian Dittrich, head of the Competence Centre for Security at Bechtle’s Cologne office.

The Platinum status is not solely tied into a certain sales volume, but also and to a greater extent depends on employee qualification. That’s why the Competence Centre has over the past months invested heavily into training personnel across various Bechtle systems integrators. Up to now, 38 Bechtle employees have been certified through Palo Alto Networks training. Bechtle offers solutions from the Silicon Valley company, which was founded in 2005, through the Competence Centre as well as various systems integrators. The two partners have successfully completed just shy of 90 projects for customers across all industries.

But Bechtle has even grander plans with Palo Alto Networks. Christian Dittrich: “Our collaboration thrives on our vivid and open communication, mutual trust and shared objectives. We see the Platinum credential as a mere stop-over on our way to becoming a Diamond Partner. We’re also working to step up our game in terms of support and planning to become an Authorized Support Centre before the year is over.”
