Juan-José Moneo, Managing Director, Bechtle direct Spain.

What defines excellent service in your view?

We want to look beyond just our customers’ business needs and discover what the people working there truly value. Companies are always striving to improve, and technology plays a fundamental role in that process. Our top task is to advise customers on how to reach their goals—be it optimising their resources, increasing efficiency or lowering costs—and to support them throughout the project.

And personal, tailored service is an important aspect.

Yes, we place a premium on respect, professionalism, honesty and impeccable service when working with our customers’ project managers. Our goal is to be there whenever our customers need us, ready to go with quick, flexible solutions. We don’t limit ourselves to simply procuring their equipment. We help them find the best technological response to their situation.

What particular challenges do you face on the Spanish market?

Spain has a lot of resellers for a market of its size, which intensifies the competition. In addition, businesses and public institutions alike are undergoing a digital transformation. The government’s goal is to increase efficiency and productivity in order to boost Spain’s competitiveness on the global stage. As a result, investment in mobility, infrastructure convergence and cloud computing has been growing. The latest projections estimate that the Spanish economy will advance three percent over each of the next two years. The IT sector will certainly mirror this trend, with positive repercussions for our own growth.

What are your team’s strengths?

Bechtle direct Spain has 66 employees, joined by seven employees at Comsoft direct. The Spanish team is passionate and enthusiastic about its mission. It tackles every project with an agile, dynamic attitude. We also have a harmonious mix of recent graduates and seasoned experts with over 20 years of IT experience. And we’re especially proud that 49 percent of our staff are women.

What are you most proud of from your time at Bechtle?

Bechtle is always moving forward, and that requires each of us to adapt to ongoing change. Bechtle has taught me a lot about technology and finance, as well as its own understanding of the IT business. I also identify with the company’s interpersonal strategy, its corporate philosophy and culture. Time and again, I’ve experienced Bechtle’s fundamental values of integrity and determination. After 11 years with the company, I can definitely say that we see eye to eye.

What motivates you?

I’m motivated primarily by my personal development and, of course, the desire to obtain excellent results. But even more important to me is that my employees continue to enjoy their jobs as we pursue these goals. I want us to accept and confront any and all challenges together as members of the same team representing the same corporate culture.
