“What is Priva?” You therefore ask.

Priva is a privacy management solution that proactively identifies and helps protect against privacy risks, empowering employees to make smart data handling decisions, and automate and manage subject requests at scale.

Priva comes in two flavours, Priva Privacy Risk Management and Priva Subject Rights Requests with the ability to combine the two if needed.


 

Priva Privacy Risk Management:

Did you know, 67% of organisations run privacy training annually showing a trend in the requirement for Privacy management as organisations moved to a more remote model.

Priva gives you an overview of your organisations data, where it is and who is the owner. It also gives you alerts and trends on the data. For example, the data can tell you if a particular user is an over-sharer of data categorised as sensitive or even where the data is shared in geographical locations. With the AI learning, what is normal and what is an anomaly will become more accurate over time.

Managing alerts are very easy, you can file them and investigate further. You can also add another individual to collaborate on the alert. From here you can manage the data identified and even redact the information from within the Priva portal.  

Priva can be extended to impact users’ interaction with sensitive data. You can set policies that stop users sending certain information via Priva. It can identify card numbers being sent via teams and provide a warning. Additionally, emails can be sent to individuals who are identified as holding certain data. The outcome can be that individuals need to remove files that are older than a specified age.

 

Priva Subject Rights Requests:

Subject Request Management (SRM) is a time-consuming process for most businesses. Priva helps make this easy and compliant with local regulations like GDPR.

Priva uses the foundational capabilities of Microsoft 365 to identify personal data types in your organization's data. As soon as you create a request, the solution immediately gets to work identifying the files, emails, sites, and chats that contain the data subject's personal data.

The data is shared in order of priority showing files or items with more than one person’s data, helping make the request easier to work through. This process can be further automated using Power Automate to create Flows for common tasks.

When obtaining licences for subject right requests, you can choose the appropriate licencing tier for how many requests you need to handle. You can purchase additional requests at any time.
