Neckarsulm, 26 March 2015 – This year’s Bechtle-hosted IT convention—the company’s largest customer event—proved once again to be very popular among IT managers. The convention’s main focus, Industry 4.0, accompanied by a wide range of expert presentations, piqued the interest of over 2,000 visitors. Never before have there been so many visitors during the event’s eleven years of existence. “We are very pleased with the overwhelmingly positive response from our customers. This is evident not only by the surge in attendance, but also through direct dialogue with customers. The combination of expert presentations and in-depth discussions on current technologies and solutions has proven successful,” claims Gerhard Marz, Executive Vice President of the Public Sector Division at Bechtle.

Expert Business Solutions for the Real World.

The event featured some 50 stands where over 150 experts from different companies within the Bechtle Group provided their expertise on a range of topics including mobility, software, virtualisation, Bechtle Managed Services, IT security and IT infrastructure. Visitors were invited to take the plunge into virtual reality and to choose from 77 popular presentations offering an in-depth look at technical and strategic topics. Presentations on Industry 4.0 were in particular demand.

Excellent Keynote Speakers.

In their keynote addresses delivered on the first day of the event, Dr Jivka Ovtcharova of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and Johann Soder, Managing Director of Innovation and Production at SEW-EURODRIVE, shone an academic light on Industry 4.0 as both an opportunity and challenge for businesses. On the second day, Dr Eckard Minx, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Daimler and Benz Foundation and an expert on innovation, presented on the challenges of digital modernism.

“The purpose of Bechtle’s Competence Centre Days is to convey our capabilities and the wide range of services we offer as vividly and hands-on as possible. Which we have once again succeeded in doing,” declares Dr Thomas Olemotz, Chairman of the Executive Board of Bechtle AG. The convention’s outstanding progress and positive visitor feedback proves that Bechtle is able to meet customer demand for information and professional advice.
