Coop Pronto aimed to future-proof its network infrastructure to seamlessly support the demands of modern business processes, such as the use of cloud-based cash register systems, contactless payment systems, and digital loyalty programs. The priority was a flexible, high-performance, entirely fiber-optic-based solution that ensures near 100% availability to secure innovative and stable operational processes. At the same time, it was crucial to create an architecture that remains scalable for future business requirements and technologies without disrupting ongoing processes. Security, performance, and maximum efficiency were at the core of the project.

Solution.
By opting for an SD-WAN solution based on HPE Aruba Networking, Coop Pronto implemented a modern network infrastructure that combines stability, security, and flexibility. The new architecture ensures fully redundant connectivity for all locations. Thanks to the combination of business fiber-optic connections and mobile 5G service, a site availability of 99.95% is achieved, providing a reliable foundation for data-sensitive applications. The 5G access not only serves as a backup but can also be used in parallel with the fiber-optic connection, ensuring maximum fail-safety and flexibility.
A key element of the solution is the multi-provider strategy, which reduces dependency on individual providers and significantly enhances fail-safety. Cyberlink handled the comprehensive connectivity of all 334 locations with a business fiber-optic service and a 5G mobile access setup, including the router, SIM card, and proactive signal monitoring—laying the foundation for a highly available network infrastructure.
The solution is further enhanced by the cloud-based management platform Aruba Central, which enables centralized management of all locations, consistent implementation of policies, and real-time network analytics. The integrated SD-WAN technology from HPE Aruba Networking also enables intelligent traffic management, prioritizing critical business applications while ensuring particularly reliable operations.
The solution is operated by Bechtle under a 7x24-hour SLA, ensuring continuous monitoring, rapid response times, and maximum availability. This provides Coop Pronto with the necessary assurance that all critical business applications run reliably around the clock.
After a carefully planned proof of concept and a successful pilot phase, the rollout to all 334 locations was smoothly executed. The result is a future-proof network architecture that not only meets current requirements but can also flexibly adapt to new business needs.
Thanks to our collaboration with Bechtle and HPE Aruba Networking, we have built a modern, cloud-based network infrastructure that optimally supports our digital business processes. The centralized management via Aruba Central and the high availability provided by the SD-WAN solution ensure maximum stability in our day-to-day operations.
