The SFS Group was faced with the complex task of harmonizing its software and licensing landscape. By using different vendor solutions, it was necessary to create synergies, reduce ongoing license costs and build a modern, scalable infrastructure. In addition, the large number of technical and contractual requirements necessitated effective consolidation and optimization of the existing contract models. Particular focus was placed on the migration of a classic on-premises infrastructure to a hybrid solution that is stable, flexible and future-proof.

Solution.

Thanks to the close cooperation between Bechtle and several leading manufacturers, a tailor-made, modular solution was developed that meets the requirements of the SFS Group:

  • Citrix: The existing Citrix environment was transferred to a hybrid license model that combines on-site and cloud use. Citrix offers a central platform for desktop and application virtualization that enables flexible working environments and ensures a stable basis for future requirements through hybrid cloud integration.
  • Microsoft: Together with Bechtle, user profiles were created in order to migrate work environments to Microsoft online services in a targeted manner. The focus was on Microsoft 365 in order to optimize collaboration and productivity. At the same time, clear contract design and long-term strategies ensured that the SFS Group can react flexibly to future growth and technological changes.
  • SUSE: SUSE delivered robust and scalable open source solutions that enable a stable and secure IT infrastructure. In particular, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server provides a reliable platform that supports business-critical applications and integrates seamlessly with cloud and edge infrastructures.
  • IGEL: With IGEL, a secure and flexible endpoint OS platform has been implemented that significantly simplifies the central management of end devices. The new license model offers transparent cost structures and a high degree of flexibility, which enables long-term planning and efficiency in endpoint management.
  • Tenable: With its focus on exposure management and preventive cyber security, Tenable makes a decisive contribution to risk minimization. With the help of modern vulnerability scanning technologies, the SFS Group's security architecture has been optimized by identifying and eliminating cyber risks.
  • Quest: Quest supported the consolidation and migration of Active Directory and hybrid IT environments. Quest's tools facilitated the merging of different AD environments and enabled a smooth transition to a flexible, cloud-based infrastructure.
