The challenge.

The primary objective for Sommet Education was to benefit from centralised management of Microsoft Azure subscriptions through a portal for all its installations, in order to have an overall view.
Our client also wanted to change their payment method from “Pay As You Go” to a monthly billing system

The solution.

Bechtle Switzerland is the only company in the Swiss market that offers Microsoft OCRE contracts—a Microsoft solution that is only available to universities and research institutes. And it enabled us to meet our customer’s needs.
In order to propose a suitable solution, our software experts met with the IT manager of Sommet Education to pinpoint and understand his mid and long term expectations. The OCRE contract was presented, followed by the creation of documents for formalising tit, which were then handed to Xavier Chaumet.
“We were looking for a tool to manage our two tenants, to strengthen our licence management and to implement a “test culture” within our IT team, with a test environment as fully-fledged as our production environment.
We chose the expertise of Bechtle Switzerland for two obvious reasons. First of all, all of our Microsoft licences are managed by Bechtle, and we are very happy with the relationship.

Secondly, we asked Microsoft how we could benefit from an OCRE contract for this project. Microsoft informed us that Bechtle was the only provider in Switzerland who could deliver this type of contract. Bechtle was then the obvious choice,

Their support and implementation on this OCRE contract have enabled us to save a considerable amount of time, given us a centralised, global and consolidated view of our licences, as well as monthly invoicing which also enables us to make projections

“The number one objective was to centralise the management of our MS Azure subscriptions in a single portal in order to have an overview and holistic management. We then asked ourselves what solutions existed for the world of education. OCRE is Microsoft’s offering. The two most important advantages are convenience and savings on MS Azure services. Bechtle and Microsoft were able to make an offer, implement it and combine our Enterprise Agreement framework and our Enterprise Agreement Azure portal, which is real added value for us. This is exactly what we wanted, and we were very well advised and supported by Bechtle’s software team in this project,” says Xavier Chaumet.
Sommet Education became a forerunner in this field by trusting us and subscribing to the first OCRE contract in French-speaking Switzerland—an approach that reflects their strategy.
“We also converted our Azure “Pay As You Go” subscriptions to Enterprise Agreement via the Azure EA portal—one of the strengths of this type of contract.
Finally, the Azure EA portal makes it possible to manage several Azure clients according to the provisions of an OCRE contract at a preferential rate,” concludes Xavier Chaumet.
