Migrating 100 clients into a unified infrastructure.
WEKA Schweiz includes two additional companies. To bring their IT into a shared foundation, there were clear requirements:
- a new Microsoft tenant for all three organizations
- a secure, scalable cloud platform
- consistently high‑performance file services – even for large Adobe files
- a unified device management solution for around 100 clients
- stable access – whether from the office or from home
The entire IT environment also needed to be scalable, transparent and secure, while functioning smoothly in daily operations. In short: IT that serves as a reliable foundation for WEKA Schweiz’s business without technical hurdles.
From my perspective, the project went extremely well. On schedule, transparent, and exactly as structured as we had planned with Bechtle. Particularly exciting for us was the close collaboration with the various specialists at Bechtle – with the right in depth expertise, everything fit together seamlessly. Solution.
Together with Bechtle, the transformation process for the new IT environment was structured from the ground up. All existing systems were analyzed, and the target architecture was defined in workshops. This resulted in a clear roadmap for the new cloud environment, enabling Bechtle to build the Azure infrastructure: Active Directory, server landscape, network, backup, security, and the completely new Microsoft tenant for all three companies.
In parallel, Bechtle consolidated the entire environment: data, mailboxes and applications. Everything was migrated into the new structure – cleanly prepared in advance and precisely switched over on migration day.
The file services now run on a virtual server in Azure, optimized for short response times and heavy workloads. A proof of concept even confirmed the performance for large Adobe files – eliminating all concerns. The end devices also received a unified foundation: via Smart Workplace and Intune, WEKA Schweiz automated its policies, updates and software packages. Microsoft Defender secures the environment, while Bechtle’s 360° firewall and 360° network ensure secure locations and stable connections.
Bechtle also continues to handle monitoring, support, updates and optimization – via clearly defined contacts. WEKA Schweiz receives regular reports and an environment that can evolve flexibly. The result: a reliable, modern IT operation – centrally managed, secure and ready for collaboration across all three companies.
