The Challenge
Following Ocee Design’s acquisition of Denmark-based Four Design, there was a need to review IT partnership for Ocee & Four Design. Ensuring that the partner of choice for the following years was able to support the activities to centralise business operations, whilst also being capable of supporting across multiple countries and timezones, was essential to the business plans. Having previously worked with ACS, who were acquired by Bechtle for support services, Ocee & Four Design invited Bechtle to tender for a new IT partnership.
The combination of Ocee & Four Design’s need for increased digital collaboration between the group companies, the need for retirement of old on-premise servers and the opportunity to streamline and create more transparent and efficient means of IT administration and support, made the timing right for switching to a cloud-based infrastructure and choosing a new IT-partner that we could trust with leading that journey.

The Solution
Having previously worked with ACS for support services, Ocee & Four Design invited Bechtle to tender for a new IT partnership. Below are the two key areas in which Bechtle built the offering around:
- Bespoke Support Structure: With FOUR in Denmark having an internal IT team and Northampton having no local IT presence, it was important to build a structure that spoke to the unique requirements of each location. A model was built to ensure reactive on-site support for Northampton, with escalatory remote support available to the IT team in Denmark when required.
- Technology Transformation: With the amalgamation of two different business operations, the initial focus of the partnership was to complete an Azure build and migration that brought OCEE Design and FOUR together operationally. Bechtle involved Consultants from the BSST team to scope out and design the project, with our internal Professional Services team responsible for the delivery of the solution.
Key benefits for ocee & four design
The partnership with Bechtle resulted in significant improvements in Ocee & Four Design's IT operations. Key benefits included:
- Delivered improved end user and infrastructure support to the business, ensuring prompt on-site support for the UK whilst also aiding the team in Denmark where needed.
- Successfully completing the cloud migration project, removing reliance on on-premises server hardware and bringing the business operations together under Ocee & Four Design.
- Continued engagement with Bechtle’s BSST team to look at further IT operation and security development.
- Aside from IT, Bechtle’s interiors teams have completed collaborative projects with Ocee & Four Design to improve the Northampton office.
Bechtle provided expert guidance and competencies in the scoping, planning and implementation of the Azure cloud migration project, Microsoft 365 merger, physical network upgrades, user device setup and support on-boarding. The transition to cloud was seamless with minimal disruption to day-to-day user activities. Bechtle has proven to be a great full-service IT-partner, and we are happy with our choice.
