Neckarsulm/Markdorf, 07 March 2012 – Bechtle AG acquires Kumatronik GmbH, based in Markdorf at Lake Constance. The IT service provider has three other locations, in Augsburg, Stuttgart and Ulm. This acquisition represents a further development of Bechtle's strong market presence in Southern Germany. Kumatronik is one of the 25 largest IT system houses in Germany, and in 2011, achieved a revenue of around 22 million euros with just under 100 employees.
"With Kumatronik, we're enhancing our competitive position in attractive economic areas. This IT system house is well-established in the market and has teams of experienced employees with good technical training in IT. We're also pleased that we were able to ensure managerial continuity, as is Bechtle's practice, by retaining Martin Seeger, the former managing director, as head of the system house," says Dr Thomas Olemotz, CEO of Bechtle AG.
Kumatronik was founded in 1981. Its customers are primarily medium-sized businesses from a wide variety of industries. The range of services Kumatronik offers is basically the same as that offered by Bechtle's IT system houses: Kumatronik provides custom, cross-manufacturer IT solutions for IT infrastructures, virtualisation, mobility, collaboration, printer management, IT security and cloud solutions. The services cover entire lifecycles, from analysing problems and designing solutions, to implementation, maintenance, operation and training.
Martin Seeger, managing director of Kumatronik since 2011: "With the decision to join Bechtle, we've set our course for a positive future. For our customers, as well as our employees, this will mean more stability and security, as well as an expanded range of services. Being part of this strong group opens up new opportunities for us to grow."
The relevant competition authorities still have to approve the acquisition. As usual, the purchase price and conditions are confidential.
