Neckarsulm/Aveiro, 29 January 2026 – Bechtle AG is acquiring the Portuguese IT systems integrator RIS 2048 - Sistemas Informáticos e Comunicações, S.A. (RIS), headquartered in Aveiro with additional locations in Lisbon and Porto. Founded in 2000, the company will continue to operate within the Bechtle Group under the RIS and Evoware brands, enhancing Bechtle direct’s existing portfolio in Portugal with IT consulting and services. RIS and Evoware currently employ 165 people, primarily serving enterprise and mid‑market customers, and generated revenue in excess of 50 million euros in 2025. Co-founders and former majority shareholders Luís Catalão, who heads up RIS 2048, and Nuno Silva, Managing Director of Evoware, will continue to lead the business. The sale to Bechtle aims to accelerate growth within a large European organisation. With the deal, Bechtle is further advancing its European acquisition strategy while expanding its portfolio in Portugal and strengthening synergies with its companies in Portugal and Spain, where the group now employs more than 1,000 people.
RIS and Evoware have built a strong market position in Portugal over the past 25 years. Evoware specialises in consulting services for enterprise customers, cloud solutions and the delivery of data centre projects, and is recognised as an HPE GreenLake expert. As an IT systems integrator, RIS primarily serves mid‑market customers with a comprehensive portfolio of products and services. Together, the two companies are an ideal addition to Bechtle direct’s previously commerce‑focused portfolio in Portugal.
Strong market position in Portugal and Spain
With this acquisition, the Bechtle Group is now represented across the Iberian Peninsula with three brands in Portugal—Bechtle, Evoware and RIS—and four brands in Spain—Bechtle, Grupo Solutia, iDoo and Prosol—covering all major economic regions. “We have been very successful in Spain and Portugal in recent years, and this latest acquisition in the attractive Portuguese market gives us a significant boost and reinforces our ambition to be among the top five service providers in Iberia by 2030. The teams at RIS and Evoware are an outstanding gain for the Bechtle Group,” says John Malone, Executive Vice President South & East Europe, Bechtle AG.
“We see significant long-term opportunities to accelerate our growth as part of a financially strong and future-oriented European IT group. Excellent teams are coming together on both sides, creating substantial synergies, strengthening one another and enabling us to gain clear market share,” says Luís Catalão, co‑founder, former majority shareholder and Managing Director of RIS.
Nuno Silva, Managing Director of Evoware, adds: “The Bechtle Group’s strong European presence provides a highly attractive environment for us. It strengthens our ability to support enterprise customers while opening up new opportunities to broaden our portfolio. For our ambitious team, it offers an outstanding platform to continue developing successfully in an international environment.”
