What is the IBM License Metric Tool?
The IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT) is a free IBM software solution that helps organisations manage and license their IBM software. It is designed to ensure compliance with IBM product licensing requirements and licence terms. ILMT covers software inventory, licence tracking and compliance, reporting and licence optimisation, as well as automated licence metric calculation.
Using ILMT is mandatory for certain IBM software products. Organisations using IBM software should therefore familiarise themselves with ILMT requirements and ensure proper implementation—avoiding costly back charges.
