VMware by Broadcom is Broadcom’s strategic software division for data centre and cloud infrastructure. Formed in 2023 following the acquisition of VMware, it now focuses on a unified private cloud platform designed for modern IT operating models.
At its core is VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), an integrated platform that brings together server virtualisation (vSphere), hyperconverged storage (vSAN), software‑defined networking and security (NSX), and cloud management and automation within a consistent operating model.
The portfolio is complemented by solutions for modern applications, Kubernetes‑based platforms, data services, disaster recovery and security. The aim is to provide organisations with a unified platform on which traditional applications, modern cloud workloads and AI workloads can run securely and efficiently—in their own data centres, at the edge or in the cloud.
