bardusch focus is on workwear, protective clothing, textiles for the hotel and gastronomy sectors as well as washroom hygiene products. Founded in 1871, the company employees 3,750 staff across Europe providing more than 90,000 customers textile management and rental. The greater the success the company enjoys, the greater the pressure on the IT infrastructure.

Against that backdrop, the in-house operated data centre needed to be modernised. Part of that project was to connect every bardusch site to the centrally managed cloud data centre and also to integrate already digitalised processes such as washing machine control and product deliveries into the new environment.

Bechtle has been partnering the textile service provider for several years in all things network and security and was also involved in setting up a Security Operation Centre (SoC). “No matter what we need, Bechtle has a solution. At a time when we are rethinking how we do a host of things, Bechtle has been the perfect partner,” says Andreas Müller, Head of Information Technology and Organisation, bardusch GmbH.

Bechtle managed the transformation end-to-end.

The choice was made to go with Azure as bardusch’s processes matched well with Microsoft’s cloud offering. The self-programmed ERP system, databases and internal washing machine controls were also to be outsourced. Bechtle took a lift-and-shift approach to migrating the data and applications into the cloud without having to make any changes to the fundamental design. Now, all applications run on the basis of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) in the cloud and bardusch now has a modern and scalable IT infrastructure to support its growth and growing internationality. Another positive effect was the maximum agility when migrating the virtual machines into the cloud. “Bechtle reacted flexibly to our changing requirements just before and after the migration. The aim was always to ensure ongoing operations were not impacted and that there were no negative consequences for our users,” explains Andreas Müller.

We have found a fantastic IT partner in Bechtle on whose skills which we can always rely. Thanks to Bechtle’s Managed Services and Microsoft Azure’s flexibility, we are ready for whatever the future has in store.

Managed Services = Greater freedom.

The Ettlinger-based company also handed over responsibility for management to Bechtle’s specialists, who now handle IT and Azure Cloud operations as well as IT security. “Transferring operations protects IT resources that bardusch can leverage for its own processes and strategic planning,” says Philipp Kraft, Lead Architect Modern Workplace, Bechtle IT System House Karlsruhe. The partners are already planning their next projects together, setting the course for a bright future at bardusch.

Headquartered in Ettlingen, the bardusch Group provides a professional textile management service, washing 310 tons of laundry everyday in Germany alone. The company has sites in six countries and employs some 3,750 European countries. The company has been in family hands since its founding in 1871 and is now run by the fifth generation. bardusch.com
