Challenge.

Eckert Logistik has been setting course for expansion and digitalisation to cement its position as a powerful partner in the transportation and logistics sector. The aim was to modernise the existing infrastructure and integrate innovative technologies in new warehouses and company locations in order to achieve a standardised network solution that combines stability, security and scalability. To establish digital and streamlined work processes while maintaining an overview of all locations, new technologies such as hand scanners and security cameras were to be introduced.

In Cisco Meraki, we have found a solution that has made our network more stable and straightforward. We were especially impressed by how flexibly Bechtle responded to and implemented ideas. Central management took a weight off our shoulders, allowing us the freedom to focus on our core business. We were also impressed by the cameras as they have given us a whole new dimension of security and with that in mind, we have decided to expand the solution. Solution.

To realise Eckert Logistik’s vision, Bechtle modernised its entire network infrastructure, gradually replacing the environment at each location with Cisco Meraki firewalls, switches and access points that were then integrated into a central dashboard along with any existing up-to-date hardware. At the same time, Bechtle migrated the server infrastructure into the Azure Cloud to ensure it can meet future requirements. Using an Azure VMX firewall, Bechtle successfully set up an inter-site network that is not only balanced, secure and stable, but which can be centrally managed. Furthermore, Bechtle optimised Eckert Logistik’s warehouse by introducing hand scanners and in the following years, new sites were fully equipped with Meraki components as they were built. These were seamlessly integrated into the existing network using auto VPN solutions and when it came to security and monitoring, Bechtle installed Cisco Meraki cameras that are easy to use and could be rapidly rolled out to provide real-time surveillance and lay the foundations for additional security features such as alarms. And finally, thanks to Bechtle’s managed services, the infrastructure is stable, secure and flexible and supports future growth and digitalisation.
