Data security is top of the agenda at FAUN, but as the number M365 users grew, managing the backups of the 17 sites throughout Europe became an ever-more challenging task. With this in mind, FAUN was on the look out for a modern, centrally managed backup solution that would link all sites while providing the highest levels of data security. The company was also aiming to relieve the burden on its IT resources and make backup management more efficient.

Solution.

Bechtle designed an AI-based backup solution for FAUN that included Rubrik technology which—in combination with Lenovo Edge servers—allows data backups to be centrally managed. At the company’s largest locations, Bechtle rolled out Rubrik appliances that secure data on-premise and replicate them in the cloud with Rubrik Cloud Vault—a cloud data storage service. Smaller sites were equipped with Lenovo Edge servers that work with KVM technology based on virtual machines and also backup data to the cloud through Rubrik Edge devices. These secure local data while Rubrik for M365 is leveraged to automatically save the data of the 1,200 M365 users. FAUN is now able to manage every site from a central dashboard that automates backup processes in accordance with pre-defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Bechtle took on managed services including 24 × 7 support, monitoring, patch management and bi-annual recovery tests. The combination of Rubrik Cloud Vault and the locally installed Rubrik appliances have given FAUN a flexible and secure solution that not only takes a load off its IT resources, but ensures the highest levels of data security.
