Challenge.
A successful sale is based on an excellent customer experience—be that digital or personal. impacx services GmbH (formerly tel-inform) uses the latest technologies and smart customer experience (CX) processes to optimally manage retailer and shops’ customer services and digital sales and boost satisfaction along the entire customer journey. To this end, 300 impacx employees and IT work around the clock to deliver an omni-channel customer service—a fact that requires a stable IT environment and a secure solution to allow the mostly external CX developers access. The company was already using an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure for one of its CX solutions, but none of the staff had anything much to do with the environment, and so impacx decided the time was right to better understand AWS so that it could be used more extensively to allow virtual workspaces. Bechtle conducted an audit to help impacx do just that as well as identify security risks.
We were very satisfied from the off and that hasn’t changed and this is why the second project came to be. Thanks to Bechtle, our interest in AWS grew over time and we now have some employees who will take on responsibility of the new infrastructure. Bechtle has put us in a position to be able to carry out everything from simple configurations to complex tasks in the cloud ourselves.

Solution.
impacx was looking for a simple, secure and scalable solution to provide its employees with digital workplaces, so Bechtle worked closely with them to develop an AWS Landing Zone implemented according to best practices. The Landing Zone covered specially defined Identity & Access Management (IAM) policies and access controls, Virtual Private Clouds (VPC) configuration, networks and security groups as well as the integration of security services and encryption.
In order to securely reproduce impacx’s organisational structure in the AWS Cloud, Bechtle set up a standard Landing Zone and new accounts using Amazon’s AWS Organizations account management service in accordance with requirements defined in a workshops. Thanks to dedicated workspaces, individually secured accesses are available tor multiple departments and use cases at the same time, ensuring that all external service companies and developers have a secure and flexible workspace in the cloud. For this reason, Bechtle configured a model workspace, which impacx can replicate as and when needed.
Bechtle also offered the company training to familiarise its staff in the management and use of the AWS environment and offered support when it came to efficiently rolling out the new workspaces. These courses were held both in-person and online to ensure that impacx can exploit the full potential of the new solution. Bechtle’s ongoing support, continual optimisation of the AWS environment along with implementation in accordance with best practices guarantees the seamless and secure operation of the productive environment into the future.
Business benefits.
Thanks to the new Bechtle-implemented AWS environment with dedicated accesses, impacx services GmbH can now better use its AWS infrastructure and provide all its external developers a securing working environment in the cloud. The new workspaces required can be quickly rolled out and removed thanks to integrated Amazon Workspaces, which has increased impacx’s flexibility. The company can now leverage Active Directory in the clouds thanks to the Bechtle.configured AWS landing Zone, which not only simplified user management, but also collaboration with external service providers. The work environment can be scaled as required and keeps costs down, particularly due to centralised resource-based invoicing that is precisely tailored to the individual accounts through Bechtle Clouds.
