Challenge.

The fashion industry is characterised by constant change and innovation. A family-run business, over the last 100 years Lebek International Fashion has developed into a brand that transforms exciting trends into stylish fashion for every woman. Smart customer care is at the heart of everything the 300 employees do. Alongside producing samples, they take care of design, purchasing and sales as well as other commercial activities, for which they use 120 Office licences. When it came to modernising the Linux-based IT systems, the IT department also wanted to leverage new technologies in Office to allow efficient and secure working as well as facilitate IT administration. Lebek was looking to breathe new life into its Office products and consolidate them as well as replace the existing mail server with a more efficient solution to secure its mail traffic. As the company’s long-term IT partner, Bechtle presented Lebek potential options during a workshop and recommended Microsoft 365 as a solution for secure and efficient collaboration that also supports third-party applications.

The Bechtle M365 Readiness Package was an enormous help when it came to modernising the existing IT infrastructure and transforming the way we work. Thanks to Bechtle’s professional and targeted support, the move to Microsoft 365 went very smoothly. Communication was a breeze and the entire process was perfectly planned. Bechtle is a partner we can truly rely on and will continue to work with them in the future.

Solution.

To facilitate seamless implementation, Bechtle offered the leading fashion company the M365 Readiness Package. Developed, standardised and bundled by Bechtle, the service is specially designed to smooth the way into the cloud. In much the same way as architects plan a house, Bechtle took a systematic approach to rolling out M365 with the M365 Readiness Package to ensure that the implementation was fast, targeted and coordinated. In addition to the basic package, there are optional add-ons that can be booked. As a result, Lebek also chose to adapt and support the existing third-party applications, adapt and configure the firewall and mail routing, automate device configuration using Autopilot to take a load off the IT team, a Veeam backup solution for M365, prepare for the replacing the endpoint protection with Microsoft Defender and archiving with Mail Store, which as also used for the migration.

During the planning phase, Bechtle worked with Lebek to plan the deployment of Microsoft 365 Business Premium taking into account all technical and business requirements. This involved Bechtle configuring the tenant, setting up Exchange Online and connecting them to the previous mail server for the hybrid transition while the mailboxes were also migrated—a process which Lebek’s IT handled themselves. During the migration process, Bechtle kept a keen eye on data security and configured Intune as the endpoint management tool for Windows and iOS. While all this was going on, the fashion company was able to carry on working without interruptions. Bechtle also introduced new confidentiality designations for data classification and the definition of detailed access rights using conditional access to round off  technical implementation. All relevant tenant settings were documented by Bechtle and handed over to Lebek. Furthermore, the IT service provider held training courses to allow the employees to get to know the new tools.

Business benefits.

With Microsoft 365 implemented using Bechtle’s M365 Readiness Package, Lebek International Fashion is benefiting from a highly-modern and secure mail server and traffic. The highly-standardised services allowed Microsoft 365 to be implemented quickly and efficiently. The near maintenance-free Exchange online reduces the amount of work for the IT department while simple device management automates many IT processes allowing Lebek’s IT to focus on other IT topics. Bechtle will support the fashion company in the future in an advisory capacity.
