Challenge.

As plasmotion continues to grow, it is constantly evolving its technologies and looking ahead to future requirements. To support that growth, the company needed an IT environment that could evolve alongside the business, combining a modern network and security architecture that would be easy to manage and quick to scale. A key requirement was the cloud-based foundation behind the solution. At the same time, the new infrastructure needed to deliver maximum ease of use and provide centralised control of all components while already taking future requirements into account, including sensors, intelligent building access and modern monitoring solutions that plasmotion planned to introduce in the near future. The new IT environment was about more than technology alone. It was intended to provide the foundation for new ideas and whatever comes next.

Solution.

For Bechtle, there was only one option when it came to delivering a centrally managed, flexible IT environment: Cisco Meraki. Working closely with plasmotion, Bechtle therefore designed a modern cloud-only infrastructure based on Cisco Meraki that was ideally suited to the company’s dynamic way of working. The project began with an analysis of plasmotion’s specific requirements, quickly revealing that the new environment needed to do more than provide networking, wireless connectivity and security. Future technologies also had to be factored into the design, as early workshops showed that sensors, cameras and other smart building solutions would fit naturally into plasmotion’s technological roadmap.

Bechtle then implemented the new environment on site. At its core is a Cisco Meraki MX firewall acting as the central security platform. Together with cloud-managed Meraki switches and modern Wi-Fi 7 access points, it delivers reliable, high-performance wireless coverage throughout the business while allowing all components to be managed centrally through the Meraki dashboard. The infrastructure is already prepared for the flexible integration of additional sensor technology, including door sensors, air-quality monitoring and smart power controllers, providing exactly the flexibility plasmotion needs for new ideas and the next stage of its growth.
