Replique GmbH is revolutionising manufacturing with its secure digital platform that allows OEMs to provide spare parts using a global, decentralised 3D printing network. To efficiently support worldwide production facilities, Replique and Bechtle not only modernised the IT infrastructure behind the platform, but also optimised deployment processes. Using various AWS services, Bechtle created a fully automated CI/CD pipeline that allows the seamless integration of code changes while simultaneously optimising the quality, security and speed of software deployments.

Challenge.

3D Print as a Service – Secured by Amazon AWS Services. Replique GmbH were on the look out for a solution that would significantly reduce the manual work required not only for managing its IT infrastructure, but also for its deployment processes. The new solution needed to automate and optimise both in order to make production workflows faster and more efficient. Furthermore, the new infrastructure needed to meet very strict ISO 27001 requirements for the highest levels of security and compliance.

Bechtle transformed our vision into a highly modern, future-facing solution. Thanks to a secure AWS cloud and tailored services, the entire code deployment process is now fully automated. The outstanding support meant we were able to achieve ISO 27001 certification, which is a critical milestone both for us and our customers and the new infrastructure has boosted confidence in our platform and services.

Solution.

Bechtle developed a fully automated solution (end-to-end CI/CD pipeline) to make Replique GmbH’s software release processes much more efficient. With cutting-edge technologies such as Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) with AWS Fargate (serverless container management), Replique can now run its applications without the time-consuming infrastructure management. Best of all, they automatically scale to current demand. The seamless integration of development and deployment processes via GitHub Actions (CI/CD pipelines) means changes are quickly and reliably implemented allowing new software versions to be published several times a day instead of every two weeks while Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and Terragrunt ensures consistent and recurring deployments across all environments. Bechtle was by Replique’s side during the entire process offering workshops and providing analyses and documentation. The new solution has allowed Replique to securely and continually update its platform all while complying with stringent security standards (ISO 27001) and boost efficiency to allow its team to focus more on developing the platform and offering its customers the best solutions.
