Bechtle named IT service partner for Berlin schools.

The Berlin Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs has once again put its faith in Bechtle to support the city’s general-education state schools in all things IT. Bechtle’s Berlin system house shall be supporting some 300 schools in six of Berlin’s 12 districts for the next four years, building on the work it has been doing since 2016 on the establishment and expansion of professional IT maintenance at schools.

The new framework agreement concluded at the beginning of the year sees external IT experts relieve schools in Berlin of work related to the admin and maintenance of IT and infrastructure systems. The Bechtle system house will be providing IT services in the districts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf, Lichtenberg, Treptow-Köpenick, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Spandau and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf.

Bechtle specialists are on-site at the schools once or twice a week providing extensive support in everything from troubleshooting, IT integration and documentation tasks to implementing new technical concepts. With this new agreement, the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family Affairs is introducing a new ticket system that is the next step towards standardising the use of Managed Services.

We are extremely pleased to be in a position to continue to support Berlin schools on their digitalisation journey over the coming years. With our experts by their sides, the schools will be able to focus on their core tasks as they have smooth-running IT they can rely on in both admin and teaching environments. The new framework agreement also provides for a second day of maintenance every week, which will not only considerably improve service quality, but will allow teachers and students to fully reap the benefits of IT.
