Neckarsulm / Hamburg, Germany, 6 August 2013 – After their first successful bid in 2009, Bechtle has been awarded a second Dataport contract for hardware, managed services and managed print solutions. The contract is valued at tens of millions of euros. As of 1 January 2014 authorised offices will be able to order PCs, notebooks, monitors and printer asset management services for their existing printer environments through the Dataport E-Shop.
The contract encompasses equipment for approximately 60,000 IT workplaces and also manages the service portfolio for some 30,000 IT workplaces. In addition, the contract covers life-cycle-related services: in-stallation, moving, adding, changing, removal, and disposal (IMAC/R/D) of equipment, including rollouts, incident management and system mainte-nance. As a Dataport innovation partner, Bechtle will also provide consulting services for Dataport’s cutting-edge system architecture with its growing performance requirements.

Dataport is a full IT service provider for the public administration in the German states of Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein. It also provides services for the public ad-ministration of members of the Kommunaler IT Verbund Schleswig-Holstein, an association of municipalities of Schleswig-Holstein. Dataport is the sole public institution providing IT services to both municipal and state offices in Germany.
Bechtle has been supplying the majority of tendered IT services since the inception of the partnership in 2009. As the main contractor, Bechtle AG, will fulfil the agreement together with its subcontractors and long-standing partners, Acer, Fujitsu, HP and Lexmark. Supervision and IT services will be provided by the service and logistics centre of the Bechtle IT system house in Hamburg, with the help of the Bechtle Group’s central resources.
