Customers showcase successful joint IT projects
The tenth anniversary of the Bechtle Competence Centre Days, held on 2 and 3 April 2014 in Neckarsulm, was once again a great success with a record turnout. Over 1,600 customers, vendors, partners and employees got the latest on IT developments as well as Bechtle’s range of products and services at this year’s IT fair, which was held under the motto “We drive IT”.
Neckarsulm, 9 April 2014 – This year’s Bechtle-hosted IT fair—the compa-ny’s largest of its kind—proved once again to be very popular among IT managers. The IT forum focused on hot topics such as the dynamic data centre, the workplace of the future and cloud computing, offering a wide spectrum of presentations and demonstrations. More than 1,600 visitors turned out—the highest attendance in the event’s ten-year history. “Every year, more and more customers come out to the Bechtle Competence Centre Days to stay abreast of the latest IT technologies and developments. That shows that it has become a perennial event for ever more IT managers,” comments Gerhard Marz, Head of the Public Sector Division, Bechtle AG.
Practical Business Solutions: Professional Dialogue and Presentations.
The event featured some 50 stands where over 150 experts from different companies within the Bechtle Group provided their expertise on a range of topics including mobility, software, virtualisation, Bechtle managed services, IT security and IT infrastructure. Visitors got the chance to see live demonstrations, experience the workplace of the future first hand, and visit their choice of 60 popular presentations offering an in-depth look at tech-nical and strategic topics. IT security captured the most attention, with ex-pert presentations exploring the various aspects involved in protecting cor-porate IT. Nine different customer presentations on joint projects with Bechtle were also well received, and many visitors took the opportunity to check out the Bechtle shared service desk and IT control room, as well as the ultra-modern warehouse.
High-performance Cars and Core Values: Visitors Rave about Fair’s Theme.
To go along with this year’s motto, “We drive IT”, the CC Days event of-fered an up-close look at some impressive, high-performance race cars. Visitors got a glimpse into the life of a race-car driver and had time to pose for the camera. Bechtle welcomed German motorsport star Ellen Lohr to speak on the importance of communication in building championships. Her talk, titled “Communication as a pillar of success”, highlighted how the core values of team spirit and trust apply to both motorsport and business alike. “We fully share Ellen Lohr’s sentiment that core values such as integrity, determination, reliability and inspiration are essential to competitive success. These are the values we live by, as displayed here in our open and honest interaction with customers at the Bechtle Competence Centre Days,” asserts Dr Thomas Olemotz, CEO, Bechtle AG. “The exceptional popularity of Bechtle’s IT fair coupled with the positive customer resonance are a great indication that we’re moving in the right direction.” The purpose of the Bechtle Competence Centre Days is to showcase Bechtle’s wide range of services and strengths at an up-close and personal venue.
Nicole Dörr kicks off her Bechtle success story in 1991. It takes some detours via Freiburg and Stuttgart before, in 2002, it homes back in on Bechtle. Today she’s on the Microsoft team full tim. Her motto: “Move and the way appears.”
When Matthias Drescher applied for a job at Bechtle, things didn’t really go to plan. But he got his foot in another Bechtle door. The start of a career that reached its peak in 2016—the former trainee takes the helm of Bechtle ÖA direct.
Making the impossible possible, picking up where others leave off—these are the qualities that make Melanie Schüle stand out. She joined Bechtle 18 years ago and she has been Head of Bechtle Clouds since October 2018.
Alexander Schweitzer describes himself as a straightforward guy, and his career at Bechtle is a case in point. Ten years ago, his first day at Bechtle also happened to mark his first venture into IT. Fast-forward a decade, in 2021 he’s one of two managing directors of Bechtle direct. When you look closely, though, his trajectory didn’t always follow such a straight line. In fact, when he first joined Bechtle, it took a surprising turn.
Since my studies in marketing and international business management, I have gained several years of professional experience in B2B marketing. Since 2020, I have been working in content management at Bechtle in Neckarsulm. There, I focus on the top issues and am the first contact person for the Modern Workplace topic area.
Julian Rojer has been working at Bechtle Onsite Services in Neckarsulm since September 2015. She started off in controlling before taking part in JuMP in 2017 to meet her need and desire for more responsibility. Since then she has become Head of Project Office & Project Management Office and is responsible for 10 employees.
My name’s Tim, I’m 22 and I’m currently in my third year of training to become an IT systems management assistant.
I want my contributions to AZUBIT to give you some insight into my training and Bechtle as an employer. I will be telling you which departments you get to experience and how they are interconnected. I am originally trained as a power system electronics technician and have completed a course of study as a technical computer scientist via the second educational path. I have been working in the computer industry for almost 38 years. Whether as a digital electronics engineer, networker, programmer, system specialist for network & security or in consulting - almost 38 years in the computer industry shape my experience and form the supporting pillars in my customer projects with a goal and success-oriented approach.
“Keep moving”—this could be the catchphrase of Diana Langer, who started at Bechtle over 21 years ago as the first dual student in Logistics & Service GmbH. Today, the enthusiastic endurance athlete is a member of the Executive Board of Bechtle E-Commerce Holding AG in Neckarsulm.
