Unna/Dortmund, Germany, 10 April 2014 – The Bechtle IT System House Dortmund has concluded a framework agreement with the association Netzwerk Industrie RuhrOst e.V. (NIRO) and byNIRO GmbH, located in Unna, Germany. The agreement covers the procurement of IT products and services via Bechtle’s proven IT procurement plat-form, bios®. The association’s 65 companies—which come from the machining, metal and electronics industries in the eastern Ruhr area—will be able to purchase brand-name IT products, services and infrastructures from an individually customisable online shop.

The contract commenced 1 April 2014 with a minimum term of three years. bios® is a tailor-made online shop that can be individually configured to meet the exact needs of each customer. Its purpose is to accelerate and streamline the procurement process, while maximising the benefits of framework agreements. It also gives companies and organisations the tools they need to ensure compliance with procurement policies, and to automate IT inventory management. All authorised companies receive their own bios®shop account and can integrate their own ERP system directly to the platform.
