Recognition of Bechtle’s technical expertise in software-defined data centres
Bechtle holds top position in EMEA region for key technology
Neckarsulm, 12 June 2017 – Bechtle has been honoured as VMware’s EMEA partner of the year for its extraordinary growth and exceptional achievement in network virtualisation and cloud solutions. VMware, the leading provider of cloud infrastructure and business mobility, recognised Bechtle in the VMware NSX® category. The awards ceremony was held during the 2017 Leadership Summit global partner conference in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, attended by select members of VMware’s global partner network.
This year's award recognised Bechtle’s excellent growth in VMware NSX® technology, VMware's platform for network virtualisation. Bechtle further distinguished itself by using this key technology to build a custom cloud solution for its customer and partner, real.scan.service GmbH. This company, which specialises in 3D scans, required a hybrid cloud to handle the large amounts of data it generates by scanning buildings. Bechtle developed such a solution based on network virtualisation.
Michael Guschlbauer, the member of Bechtle's Executive Board responsible for IT System House & Managed Services business, and Roland König, managing director and head of virtualisation, accepted the award at the partner conference. “We are particularly proud to receive this award because it pays tribute to our expertise in an IT specialisation that is currently still in its infant stages. We achieved our top EMEA position through the excellent work of our IT business architects and over 600 certified virtualisation specialists at Bechtle. This puts us at the forefront of the field, without which cloud computing would not be possible,” says Mr König.
Bechtle became VMware’s first partner in Germany in 2003. For the past 13 years, it has held Enterprise Partner, then Premier Partner status.
