Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Simon, I’m just about to turn 34 and I have a 2 year-old daughter and another child on the way at the end of the year. I’m originally from Dijon but have lived in Alsace since 2019.
What was it like when you joined Bechtle?
I started at Bechtle nearly two years ago in my current job, just before the relocation to the site in Illkirch.
Funny story—my job interview was held in our current building while it was still under renovation!
Afterwards I had the chance to meet the marketing team who quickly welcomed me on board and made me feel at home.
Could you tell us about your career?
I completed a two-year Master’s degree in Marketing at the ESC Clermont in 2014.
I’ve been able to gain lots of experience in marketing in very diverse sectors—cinema, finishing, e-commerce, automotive.
Most recently, I spent four years in a Paris branch of the Société Générale financial services company, and then worked as a marketing coordinator in the automotive sector in Strasbourg at Grand Est Automobile.
Before joining Bechtle, I spent eight months with my new-born daughter. It was an incredible and precious experience that I recommend to everyone expecting a child!
What does your current role involve?
My job consists of defining and implementing marketing campaigns that offer Bechtle France and their financing partners prominence and opportunities.
This takes the form of defining a marketing plan with the manufacturers and managing the resulting activities where we constantly link the expectations of our existing partners with the Bechtle marketing strategy.
I am lucky enough to work every day with Axel, someone who’s very professional with a great team spirit.
In your opinion, what are the qualities required to be a partner manager?
I would say being a good listener, with a good sense of coordination with rigorous budget and deadline management skills for marketing campaigns.
Have you been able to acquire any new skills since starting at Bechtle?
Project management, English, and SAP skills.
What is the next step on your Bechtle journey?
I feel very comfortable in my current position. Apart from that, I’m always interested in new marketing activities, especially in CSR as these are the issues I’m particularly into.

But enough talk about work! Do you have any hobbies?
I really enjoy reading, hiking, video games, music (indie, 60s and electro rock) but I think my biggest passion is cinema!
How would your friends and family describe you?
Inquisitive, a bit chatty but generally quiet.
What film does everyone need to see?
Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa. A lot of people have heard of it but very few have actually seen it! It’s a timeless classic that’s very easy to watch.
Your favourite food?
I’m torn between Raclette and Japanese curry.
And is there anything else we should know about you?
As a cinema buff, I’m a big collector of films in physical format—my lounge is home to nearly 800 DVDs, Blu-rays and Blu-ray 4Ks!
