This article explains how the Consumption Details section is structured and how you can use it to improve cost control.
This section section gives you a clear breakdown of your cloud usage. You can see which resources were used, how long they were used, and what they cost. It also helps you track spending over time and spot any changes across different providers. This gives you more details than your monthly invoice and makes your usage easier to understand.
Consumption Details allows you to see all resources used across your cloud providers, including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud. For each resource, it shows the type, the quantity and the runtime to give you a full picture of your overall cloud usage.
You can see individual prices for each resource as well as the total cost resulting from that usage. This helps you spot cost drivers quickly and understand how pricing has changed over time.
The section compares your current usage with previous periods. This makes changes easier to notice – whether they are due to seasonal effects, project phases or pricing changes introduced by cloud providers.
You can open Consumption Details by clicking your name in the Bechtle Clouds Portal, opening the Service Portal and navigating to Consumption Details. From there, you can view all consumption information in detail.
The Consumption Details section gives you far more insight than the monthly invoice. It shows individual resource costs, makes price changes easier to track and helps you plan budgets more accurately and optimise your cloud environment.
While the monthly invoice only shows total costs per cloud provider, Consumption Details breaks these totals down by individual resource. This lets you clearly see the source of each cost and how the total amount is calculated.
