This article explains the features and information in the ‘Discounts’ section and shows how Bechtle employees can use it for internal discount management. 

OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

The ‘Discounts’ section of the Bechtle Clouds Portal is intended exclusively for Bechtle employees and provides a complete overview of all discounts assigned to a specific customer. It allows users to view discount details, as well as create new discounts or deactivate existing ones. As customers do not have access to this section, it is used exclusively for internal price and quotation management and helps employees to check a customer’s correct discount status at any time.

Access to the ‘Discounts’ section

This section is located within the Service Portal of the Bechtle Cloud Portal and is only visible if you are logged in as a Bechtle employee. Customers cannot see this section, as it is reserved exclusively for internal roles such as Customer Service Representatives or Support staff.

Information on stored discounts

The ‘Discounts’ section displays all relevant details regarding the discounts granted to a customer. This includes the product offers to which the discount applies, the current discount status, the date it was created, and the person who created the discount. In addition, the validity period of the discount agreement and the resulting end customer price after the discount has been deducted are displayed. This information enables transparent and comprehensive tracking of all a customer’s discount agreements.

Functions for managing discounts

Within this section, all of a customer’s existing discounts can be viewed. Staff also have the option to create new discounts or deactivate existing ones if they are no longer valid or required. Managing discounts helps ensure that customer interactions run smoothly and guarantees that the correct price is always communicated.

Use cases

Access to the ‘Discounts’ section is restricted exclusively to Bechtle employees who have the appropriate authorisation. Customers themselves cannot view this section, and only authorised employees can create, view or deactivate discounts. This ensures that the management of discounts is controlled, secure and traceable.

Access rights

The ‘Discounts’ section is primarily used to check current discount agreements before contacting a customer. It also helps manage validity periods, status changes and pricing details, ensuring that customers are always charged the correct, agreed-upon prices. Staff frequently use this section to quickly and fully understand a customer’s discount structure.
