Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
I’m Jessica, I’m 33 years old and I’m a Business Development Manager for the Modern Workplace at Bechtle.
What was it like when you joined Bechtle?
When I first came to Bechtle
I didn’t expect to stay here longer than a few weeks because I was hired for a very short-term customer acquisition campaign. That was 10 years ago. Back then, we were fewer than 60 colleagues here in France.
What’s your professional background?
I started out as a field rep for a food company where I also did my dual-study programme in customer relationship management. After that, I wrote my Bachelor thesis in an automotive company, and then worked in sales at a company for conveying technology, before I eventually landed at Bechtle.
In your opinion, what qualities are essential for the job?
Patience. And you have to be a good listener to really understand your customers’ needs. And of course inquisitive!
You really have to stay on your toes because software is a really fast-paced business. And not to forget, a little passion for IT.
Have you been able to acquire any new skills since starting at Bechtle?
I started in Sales and learned a lot about IT and in particular software. My first focus was on Adobe, then Microsoft. Bit by bit I acquired the knowledge that I need to offer our customers through software consulting across the board.
And I’ve come to be a true team player. You really need all the skills your team has to offer to deliver the best service for your customers.
What is the next step in your Bechtle journey?
Earlier this year I expanded my role a bit and joined Chloé and Yoann’s DaaS team. This allows me to go deeper on the other side of IT—hardware.
Which three words would you use to describe Bechtle?
Adaptability, team, IT!
But enough talk about work! Do you have any hobbies?
I love sports, travelling, reading and DIY. And I’m interested in the natural style of home décor by MADEINHOME.
