Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication on bechtle.com adds an extra layer of security to your business account. It enhances login protection and can be managed flexibly – including device changes, backup codes and selecting preferred authentication methods.

There are two methods—e-mail and app. The e-mail method utilises the user’s e-mail address. The app method leverages a third-party authentication app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, Free OTP). Learn more
No, this is optional. With it, Bechtle is providing every user with an additional layer of security. Learn more
Yes, users can enable and disable two-factor authentication or switch to another method in their accounts. Learn more
When logging in, users will be asked to enter a six-figure security code after inputting their login credentials. Depending on the method selected, this code will either be generated in an app or e-mailed. Once the code has been entered and confirmed, the user will be logged in. Learn more
No. When two-factor authentication functional cookies have been accepted, users will only have to enter a code once every 24 hours per browser. There is also the possibility to save browsers, for which a code is not required. Learn more
Yes, saved browsers can be deleted at any time in the customer account. Doing so will mean having to once again enter a security code when logging in. Learn more
If you’ve set up two-factor authentication, but you no longer have access to the linked app/e-mail account, please get it touch with your Bechtle account manager. Learn more
Not everyone will be able to configure two-factor authentication straight away as it is being gradually rolled out. Learn more
