Hardware for secure two-factor authentication (2FA) with TOTP 2-factor authentication (2FA) offers a high level of protection to prevent unauthorised use or theft of your user account, even if your user name or password should get into the wrong hands. The most commonly used method is called Time-based One-time Password (TOTP). This often employs authenticator apps on smartphones. Due to the lack of security on smartphones, the TOTP can be stolen quite easily. Hardware-based TOTP generators offer the highest security standard. The REINER SCT Authenticator saves the electronic key for logins in the hardware and generates TOTP passwords every 30 seconds with great precision. It can do this without being connected to the internet and can hence not be hacked. Its security can be bolstered even further with PIN protection. The REINER SCT Authenticator uses an in-built camera to recognise authentication data from the online platform in the form of a QR code instantaneously and allocates it to an account.
