VoIP requires broadband Internet access, which many companies already have, making it easy to switch over to VoIP. Because landline phones and the Internet often share the same copper cables, a large chunk of the frequency spectrum is blocked by the ISDN or analogue phones. By contrast, VoIP only uses a comparatively small portion of the connection capacity.
