What If Your Devices Could Talk? With WXP, They Do.

WXP uncovers everyday frustrations and hidden issues that traditional monitoring tools miss.

A Moment from the Roundtable.

I recently attended an HP Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) roundtable with Bechtle, and one thing really stuck with me: IT teams are absolutely swamped with alerts. The funny (and frustrating) thing is, despite all that noise, they’re still missing the issues that actually slow people down day to day.
It made me think about how easy it is to fall into reactive IT, constantly receiving data, but not the right insights. For example, you might get 100 alerts about low disk space, yet have no visibility that Teams is crashing daily for remote users. The insights that directly impact employees’ daily experience are what really matter, but they often get lost in the noise.
And even then, many issues never reach IT at all. According to a recent Forrester report, nearly 60% of employees don’t report IT problems, either because they assume nothing will change or the process takes too long.
I can vouch for that - my laptop camera hasn’t worked in months. Rather than raise a ticket, I just use an external webcam. It’s easier to live with than my perception of going through the process, and I’m definitely not the only one who thinks that way.
One thing that genuinely surprised me at the roundtable was the Smart Refresh feature. I’ve always thought of device upgrades as something based on age or warranty. But WXP takes a completely different approach. It uses real-time data on performance and health to flag the devices that are likely to cause issues soon, not months from now.
That kind of insight completely flips how we think about lifecycle management. It’s not just smart, it’s practical. It helps IT teams prioritise replacements where they’re really needed, before problems start.
What WXP Actually Does.
WXP is a vendor-agnostic cloud analytics solution that uses AI to monitor device health and user experience in real time. It combines telemetry from hardware, software, collaboration tools and network performance to give IT teams deep visibility into both the technical and real-world user experience across their environment.
WXP is modular, meaning you can start with core PC insights and add additional capabilities over time. Right now, most customers begin with PC monitoring, and AV support (for meeting room utilisation and call quality) is available through a Vyopta integration. Print monitoring will also be available as a future module. This flexible approach means you only pay for what you need.
WXP doesn’t just report on what’s already broken. It’s designed to predict problems before users even notice them, whether that’s a failing battery, a dodgy patch, or a laptop grinding to a halt mid-meeting. It also focuses on what it’s like for the people using the tech. Whether someone’s remote, hybrid, or in the office, WXP monitors how their experience is being impacted by the device they’re working on. It looks at things like app crashes, call quality (like Teams or Zoom), latency, hardware slowdowns, and more. That’s what really makes it different. It's as much about people as it is about hardware.
Where Bechtle Comes In.
This is where I think Bechtle adds real value. Plenty of resellers can talk about WXP, but we don't just hand over a dashboard and walk away. Through lifecycle management, we turn insights into action, embedding them into your device lifecycle strategy. From proactive refreshes to minimising unplanned downtime, we help you move from reactive support to a more predictive, efficient model.
Take one customer, for example: WXP flagged early signs of battery failure across a group of devices. Users hadn’t reported anything yet, but we replaced the affected units ahead of time. The result? No disruption, no rush replacements, and fewer support tickets. That’s the power of turning visibility into value.
Why This Matters.
The idea of having a single, clear view of your device fleet and employee experience regardless of brand or location is something a lot of IT teams aspire to. With WXP’s AI-powered insights, you can move from reactive firefighting to data-led decisions that support end-user productivity.
You can plan smarter upgrades, manage costs more predictably, and keep your people productive. All while supporting sustainability goals with proper recycling and lifecycle management. And with Bechtle as your IT partner, we can help you explore how tools like WXP can fit into the bigger picture of your device strategy
