The Challenge.

Avery Healthcare were operating their infrastructure within a data centre that was scheduled for decommissioning. This created an urgent need to identify an alternative that could accommodate the migration of critical workloads securely and without disruption. Given the nature of their services, ensuring zero downtime for end users was essential.

The Solution.

To determine the best-fit solution, Bechtle’s Cloud team conducted a comprehensive analysis of Avery Healthcare’s existing environment, technical requirements, and user needs. Based on this, Microsoft Azure was recommended for its flexibility, performance enhancements, and cost-efficiency. Azure also offered the scalability Avery Healthcare needed to support future innovation and digital transformation. Following the presentation of a high-level overview of Azure’s benefits by Bechtle, the Avery Healthcare IT team agreed it aligned well with their long-term goals. Bechtle then carried out a Microsoft Azure migration assessment to design a tailored architecture and migration strategy. This required a carefully planned approach to avoid disruption by aligning the migration with end-user availability.

The detailed migration plan and supporting Statement of Work (SoW) were reviewed and approved by Avery Healthcare. The Bechtle team subsequently deployed the Azure environment and executed the migration in line with the proposed strategy. By moving to Azure, Avery Healthcare now benefit from reduced operational costs, enhanced performance, and greater flexibility through cloud-native services. The new environment has also positioned them for continued digital transformation by providing a secure, scalable platform that supports future innovation and long-term growth.

We started working with Bechtle following their acquisition of our chosen cloud services provider. The team at Bechtle uplifted one of our key systems from a datacentre hosted by our old CSP into our Azure environment. They were able to do this with no downtime for our end users and worked closely with the app developer to ensure that we had a seamless transition. Their post-implementation support was fantastic, and they were able to assist us with a couple of teething issues we experienced almost immediately, due, in part, to the tireless effort of our point man, Russel Brown.
