Now the festive season is upon us, we are excited to welcome you to our Sustainable Christmas Newsletter. This year, we are embracing the spirit of Christmas with a renewed focus on sustainability and giving back to our local communities. The holiday season is a time of joy, generosity, and togetherness, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on the impact our celebrations have on our local surroundings.
Food & Coat Donations
Our Northampton office recently made a generous contribution to the community by donating six large boxes of food to the Food Bank appeal for Hope.
Continuing this spirit of giving, all our offices are coming together this month to collect unwanted coats. These coats will be donated to local charities and homeless shelters in our respective communities, helping to provide warmth and comfort during the colder months.
We are proud to play a part in supporting these vital causes and encourage everyone to get involved. Together, we can make a meaningful difference!
Eco-Friendly Decorations
Transform your home into a festive wonderland with sustainable decorations. Consider using natural elements such as pinecones, holly, and berries to create beautiful, biodegradable ornaments. Upcycling old decorations or crafting new ones from recycled materials can add a personal touch and reduce waste. LED lights are a great energy-efficient option to illuminate your home while conserving power.
Thoughtful Gifting
Gift-giving is a cherished tradition, but it doesn't have to come at the expense of the planet. Choose gifts that are meaningful, durable, and environmentally friendly. Handmade items, experiences, or gifts that support local artisans and businesses can make a significant positive impact. Additionally, consider using sustainable wrapping materials such as reusable fabric, recycled paper, or even creatively repurposed items.
Gifts for those who need it most
- This festive season, over 1 in 4 children are living in poverty.
- 1 in 7 parents and carers won’t be able to afford presents for their children.
- 6 million people can’t afford to heat their homes.
As the holiday festivities begin, we can forget the hardships being faced by people around the UK this Christmas. This year, we want to spread the joy and generosity at home focusing on giving back to charities in our local communities. See below the chosen charities our offices are supporting:
