Microsoft Copilot Licensing Details Announced.

Microsoft Copilot licensing details have been announced!

Eligible base licenses are:

  • Microsoft 365 Business Standard
  • Microsoft 365 Business Premium
  • Microsoft 365 E3
  • Microsoft 365 E5

Users will also need to have an Azure AD account. Furthermore, the users Microsoft 365 Apps must be on “Current Channel” or the “Monthly Enterprise Channel” to access Copilot.

Microsoft Sentinel for The Power Platform.

Microsoft announced the Microsoft Sentinel solution for the Power Platform. This will be a premium offering that is currently in limited public preview.

‘This integration will enable the Microsoft Power Platform admin centre to surface proactive threats to your data and other assets and provide recommendations or automation for mitigation or resolution. This will be essential for organizations to protect their sensitive data, mitigate security risks, and stay one step ahead.'

Updated Power Automate App for iOS Devices.

Also announced recently was the updated Power Automate mobile app for iOS devices – now generally available.

Additional features:

  • View successes and failures in cloud flows
  • Quickly trigger an instant flow
  • View your notifications
  • Easily view and respond to approvals

Power BI Changes with Microsoft Fabric.

Microsoft are calling Fabric a unified data analytics platform, an end-to-end analytics solution focussed on data analysts, data engineers etc.

Some useful licensing information:

  • Power BI premium capacity ‘P1 SKU’ is the equivalent to a Fabric ‘F64 SKU’
  • Power BI premium capacity allows access to the Fabric suite
  • Power BI Free license has now been renamed to ‘Microsoft Fabric Free license’
  • Power BI Administrator role has now been renamed to ‘Fabric Administrator’
  • Power BI Pro license
  • If you have a Microsoft Fabric capacity and want to create/share in Power BI, you will still need to acquire a Power BI Pro license
  • If you have a fabric capacity F64 as a minimum or Power BI premium capacity P1 and above - free users licenses can still consume content without needing a paid for Power BI license
  • Power BI Premium per user still exists but with only partial access to Fabric

CSP Do More with Less E3 PROMO EXTENDED!

Microsoft have announced that the CSP Do More With Less E3 Promo (15% off the Microsoft 365 E3 cost) as previously mentioned running up until the end of June has been extended until 30/09/2023. 

However, the caveats that were put on hold throughout June have now been reinstated and so original eligibility requirements now apply:

  • The discount is available to customers who haven’t previously purchased Microsoft 365 E3 on any platform (legacy or NCE) or channel (direct, CSP, or Enterprise Agreement) or through a trial
  • The promotion is limited to the first 2,400 seats
  • Minimum of 250 seats to be purchased in the original order, validation process includes tracking to confirm the additional seats have been applied to the subscription ID
  • Customer must not be moving greater than 250 seats from an existing or expired Microsoft 365 E5 subscription to Microsoft 365 E3
