Neckarsulm, 4 November 2019 – Bechtle combines its IT System House & Managed Services segment with its licensing business in Switzerland: Bechtle Steffen Schweiz AG, Bechtle Steffen Suisse SA, Comsoft direct AG and Bechtle Steffen IT Services shall be consolidated under Bechtle Schweiz AG/Bechtle Suisse SA and the Bechtle logo from 1 January 2020, creating the biggest integrated IT service provider in Switzerland with some 560 employees. By seamlessly uniting under the Bechtle brand, the new organisation will offer a unique portfolio in Western and German-speaking Switzerland—ranging from consulting, software licensing and software asset management to IT workplace and data centre infrastructure; managed services and software solutions.
“As a result of the project One Bechtle, our system houses and service units have been collaborating more closely with each other and increasingly pooling their expertise. This model has proved itself very successful and gives our employees additional opportunities to develop within a multi-disciplinary IT company”, says Hanspeter Oeschger, Vice President, IT System House & Managed Services Switzerland, Bechtle AG. “Consolidating our strengths in the Swiss market under the Bechtle logo is the next logical step on our path to success. With a unit each in Western and German-speaking Switzerland, we are in a position to offer customers in both regions expert and comprehensive support. With our focus on the special needs of SME, enterprise and public customers and our close cooperation with the IT consultants and Bechtle Group company, Evolusys SA; the Bechtle ERP and CRM specialists, Acommit and Alpha Solutions; the CAD specialist, Solid Solutions; and the e-commerce companies, Bechtle direct and ARP, we are now able to offer our customers integrated services from a single source.”
Further portfolio expansion
The software specialist—algacom AG—acquired in October this year, supplements the portfolio with essential solutions. Thanks to its highly-qualified experts, the new Bechtle IT system house can further bolster its capabilities, particularly in the rapidly growing fields of collaboration and messaging as well as Microsoft Office 365. In addition, the company has an own identity & access management solution in the shape of aMIRA, which will be available on its own cloud platform as a Software-as-a-Service.
The companies of the future Bechtle Schweiz AG/Bechtle Suisse SA currently employ some 560 employees in Basel, Bern, Carouge, Mägenwil, Morges, Pratteln, Regensdorf, Rotkreuz and St. Gallen. The manging directors, Markus Oeschger, Christian Speck and Roger Suter, will be located in the German-speaking unit, and Leo Prado in Western Switzerland. Hanspeter Oeschger shall continue in his position as Vice President of IT System House & Managed Services Switzerland.
Close collaboration with Group experts
The Bechtle group’s second segment—IT E-Commerce with the companies Bechtle direct and ARP—shall continue to be managed separately from the system house. Bechtle Group specialists such as Acommit, Alpha Solutions and Solid Solutions shall also remain independent, but will work closely together with the system house. Hanspeter Oeschger: “We will step up the intertwining of our expertise so that we can provide our customers optimum support in their modernisation projects and on the path to digital transformation. We also want to continue investing in new areas and technologies and build on our innovative strengths.”
