Neckarsulm, 15 October 2025 – Bechtle AG has achieved the milestone of 1,000 electric vehicle charging points across its sites in the DACH region, with the one-thousandth unit installed during the recent site expansion in Gütersloh. Since 2020, the company has increased its charging infrastructure tenfold with 166 new points added this year alone. Germany’s largest IT system house now offers workplace charging for hybrid and fully electric vehicles at 61 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, supporting its sustainable fleet strategy and making low-emission mobility more accessible to employees. As part of its broader sustainability agenda, Bechtle is also expanding its charging infrastructure in some of the 14 European countries where it operates. Outside the DACH region, the company currently provides around 60 charging points, including in Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
Within its business operations, Bechtle sees the transition to e-mobility as the most effective lever for reducing carbon emissions and achieving its climate targets. By continuing to develop its sustainable fleet strategy, the company is steadily moving towards low-emission vehicles—with full conversion planned by 2030. By the end of 2024, the number of vehicles running on alternative fuels accounted for around 47 per cent of the Bechtle fleet, of which roughly 21 per cent are fully electric. As the number of electric vehicles grows, expanding the charging infrastructure remains crucial to ensure employees can easily charge their vehicles near their place of work. “The installation of our one-thousandth charging point in the DACH region marks another milestone and reflects our ambition to keep raising the bar on what we’ve already achieved,” says Antje Leminsky, COO of Bechtle AG.
Holistic approach
Bechtle employees can use Charge@Work to charge their hybrid or fully electric vehicles at 61 locations—four more than at the end of 2024. The company continues to align site development with the expansion of its charging infrastructure, most recently at the extended IT Future Hub in Gütersloh, East Westphalia. Private electric vehicles can also be charged during working hours. Billing is based on actual consumption, calculated per kilowatt hour at a uniform, low rate—ensuring fair pricing and efficient use of the infrastructure. The largest charging facility within the Bechtle Group is located at the company’s headquarters in Neckarsulm, where around 170 charging points are currently in operation. The gradual rollout of infrastructure began here in 2014, positioning Bechtle among the early adopters in the German private sector.
Increased use of green electricity
Bechtle is also accelerating the gradual switch to 100 per cent green electricity at other sites, combining sustainable building concepts with energy sourced from photovoltaic and geothermal systems. Since 2020, technology partner The Mobility House Solutions has been supplying Bechtle with charging stations and providing software-based charging and energy management—ensuring efficient, cost-effective integration into the existing energy infrastructure.
