The journey began with a passion.
Maike's journey began with a deep love of horses. Even as a child, she spent every spare minute at the stables. But it wasn't until years later, at the age of 26, that she realised her dream of owning her own horse. ‘That was a turning point,’ she says. Horses were always more than just animals to her - they became teachers for life.
The decisive impetus came from an equine coaching session she attended in 2016. ‘I was deeply touched by how horses mirror us. They bring emotions to the surface that we often don't realise ourselves,’ she recalls. The experience was so formative that Maike began to train in coaching - initially for her own development, but later also to support others.
One heart and one soul

Maike's clients come to her with a wide variety of concerns - from professional decisions to personal blockages and relationship issues. ‘The special thing about equine-assisted coaching is that it doesn't just work through words. Horses communicate directly with our inner state. They show us what we feel before we realise it ourselves,’ explains Maike.
‘Horses have enormous transformative power. They calm our autonomic nervous system without overwhelming us,’ she says. This healing power never ceases to amaze Maike, and she experiences with her clients how profound this experience can be.
The balance between the paddock and the office.

‘Working with horses has taught me to be present and to listen - not just with my ears, but with all my senses,’ says Maike. This ability helps her to work successfully as a business development expert and to inspire others.
‘When I look back after a coaching session with a horse and a client, it's like a refreshing new beginning. It's often the same in my role at Bechtle - after a clear conversation and a well-thought-out decision, the path suddenly feels clear.’
