Bechtle Schweiz AG has expanded its system house business and bolstered its competence in the areas of IBM infrastructure and virtualisation by acquiring Sedna Informatik AG. Founded in 2004, systems integrator Sedna Informatik is headquartered in Gümlingen, close to Bern, and employs 17 people. Its decision to fuse with Bechtle Bern was motivated by a desire to benefit from the potential synergies as quickly as possible. Sedna Informatik's managing director, Stefan Ellenberger, will remain in his current position and join Bechtle Bern's managing director, Jolanda Geringer to form a new management team.
Rotkreuz/Gümligen, 8 April 2013 – After acquiring redIT St. Gallen in 2011, Bechtle Switzerland is now boosting its IT infrastructure expertise by welcoming another qualified and experienced team. Sedna Informatik, whose acquisition by Bechtle has been retroactively set to 1 January 2013, has specialised in systems integration and virtualisation for the past nine years. The company's service portfolio includes consulting and ITIL-conform concepts, project implementation, as well as operation and support. As an IBM Premier Business Partner with extensive project and support experience, its customer base is made up primarily of mid-sized businesses, with a few large customers. In 2012, Sedna Informatik's revenue totalled 13.6 million Swiss francs.
