When R-Biopharm signed up to the Analytica trade fair, it wanted to find an innovative way to present its new Pictus 500 Analyser. The company hoped to set up the complex device in a virtual space replete with all the technical details to demonstrate its capabilities to a broad audience in a way that would really make an impact and allow people to engage intuitively with the technology.

We’ve received a lot of positive feedback on our virtual presentation. Visitors were extremely enthusiastic and our booth at the Analytica trade fair was very well received. The possibility to use augmented reality on the HoloLens 2 to get to know our analyser was a real highlight for many people that really stood out at an event that isn’t very IT-focused. Thanks to Bechtle, we really stood out and we will definitely continue to use AR to demo our products in the future.

Solution.

When it came to designing and realising the interactive booth with HoloLens 2, R-Biopharm called on Bechtle’s support, which used JoinXR software to create a virtual space for the augmented reality headset, where visitors could experience a 3D model of the newly launched Pictus 500 Analyser. They were not only able to view it from all sides, but enlarge and rotate it and even see it broken down into its constituent parts. R-Biopharm had dedicated a portion of its open booth to the demo, where visitors could see a projection of the 3D visualisation. Bechtle also embedded video clips of how the device works within the virtual space. Due to the 3D model’s complexity with thousands of individual parts on each layer, Bechtle used JoinXR’s cloud rendering capabilities to allow several Microsoft HoloLens 2 headsets to be used simultaneously, and the content to be delivered to large 4K monitors installed at the booth. Thanks to stable internet connectivity, the impressive, live-streamed 3D visualisations were a real draw.
